Two of Cornwall’s leading visitor attractions can be reached from Looe by using our fabulous Looe Valley Line, and then a connection bus….. come and explore how you can reach The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, without getting in your car.
The Looe Valley Line

Connecting the Cornish coast to Liskeard, and the mainline railway, The Looe Valley Line has long served both visitors & commuters with the most scenic way of traveling between the two towns.
Your journey from Looe heads along the East Looe stretch of the Looe River and meanders its way up the valley to Coombe Junction. ere, there’s a brief pause whilst the driver gets out, changes ends of the train and then continues up the steep final section to Liskeard.
Alighting the train at Liskeard, you’re just a few steps to reach the mainline platform, heading in the direction of Penzance, where your train journey continues to the town of St. Austell.
At St. Austell, simply leave the station and pick up one of the buses that take you to your choice of The Lost Gardens of Heligan or The Eden Project (links below to the respective timetables).
You can view the Looe Valley Line timetable HERE and plan your full journey, along with ticket reservations, on the GWR website.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan

“Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic”

Explore massive covered Biomes to trek through one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests and immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome. Enjoy extensive Outdoor Gardens, contemporary artworks, performance and storytelling. Discover places to rest, play and eat, and pick up inspiring ideas to take home on how to care for the planet that cares for you.”
