Nestled at the edge of the harbour, in the very heart of Polperro, you’ll find The House on the Props – one of the Village’s most iconic buildings.
A year-round bolthole in a unique settings, our B&B and restaurant are the perfect place to relax & unwind – with all the Village has on offer just feet from our front door.
Bed & Breakfast
Our three guest rooms, located on the second floor, include two double ensuite and one twin ensuite. Two of our rooms have direct views over the harbour below.
Our rooms are cosy and furnished carefully to maximise space. All rooms have en suite shower rooms with toiletries provided. There are smart TVs and tea & coffee making facilities in each room – a fridge is located outside the rooms with fresh milk for all guests. There is also a selection of drinks and snacks for you to enjoy.
Our Restaurant
Breakfast and lunch is served daily all year round and the restaurant is open for evening meals during high season.
The restaurant serves a variety of delicious, homemade meals and lighter options all made using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. As well as this, you can enjoy a range of delicious cakes and Cornish scones, made fresh daily.
The dining area is full of historic interest with nautical and smuggling artefacts. The beams and masts in the Props restaurant came from the Maverine, which foundered in circa 1700, and the building is often referred to as ‘the house on stilts’ because of its unique design.
