Rivermead is a hidden gem in the beautiful Glynn Valley, tucked between Bodmin Moor and the River Fowey, a prime Cornish spate river giving excellent salmon and trout fishing between 1st April and 15th December. We only allow guests booked into our self-catering accommodation at Rivermead to have access to our half a mile of private river frontage and the renowned Kingfisher pool, said to be one of the best fishing locations on the Fowey.

Our characterful, well-equipped properties cater for varied parties from couples to friends and family groups with accommodation for up to 31 guests in converted eighteenth-century farm buildings and two new wooden lodges. We have something for everyone from one-bedroom cosy cottages to our four-bedroom Old Farmhouse with its low beams, creaky floorboards and original fireplaces. Our modern lodges, Owl and Otter, comfortably accommodate up to six guests and their views across the valley or directly down to the river make them extremely popular. There’s ample free parking as well as free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, games and books.

Rivermead offers the best of both worlds. We’re centrally located off the A38 and perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall’s beaches, walks and attractions, but we also have 17 acres of beautiful oak woodland, meadow and a private lake. Rivermead is the place to take time out to fish, to meander through the trees, to listen to the birdsong or to relax on a picnic bench watching the water.
