Overlooking the English Channel with views to Looe Island in one direction and the Rame Peninsular in the other, The Glass Shack is situated in Downderry, just a few miles to the east of Looe on the stunning South east coast of Cornwall.

Here, Caroline has her studio where, using the technique of Glass Fusing, she creates and sells beautiful glass art pieces and also runs workshops to enable anyone to experience the delight of creating their own personal piece of glass.

A unique, handmade piece of glass is the perfect solution for that ‘difficult to buy for’ person or a gift for someone special…and what a unique keepsake of your holiday in Cornwall?

What is Glass Fusing?

Basically, this is the technique of joining 2 or more pieces of glass together by heating them in a kiln at a temperature of between 670c and 820c. In most cases, sheet glass is cut into shape and then put together to create your design before firing in the kiln for up to 24 hours.

If you want to try glass fusing for yourself, you could join a group session, book for your own personal group or a one to one session….or maybe you’d like to come as a family, with your younger ones, who can make their own piece of glass art using pre-fired pieces so no need to cut any glass and is completely safe.

If you would like something very personal, then why not consider commissioning a bespoke piece of glass art to be made especially for you, your home or a very special person…either to your own design or based on work I have previously made.

Whatever you’d like, I look forward to meeting you at The Glass Shack soon…in the meantime, keep updated via our Facebook or Instagram pages or take a look at our website
