A Unique Setting for a Bookshop
The building is much older – it originally was a 19th century Methodist Chapel, in the picturesque fishing town of Looe, in South East Cornwall.
You can find this lovely shop in the centre of town, just a short walk up the Shutta Road, starting opposite the GuildHall Market Shop. It’s a bit tucked away, but when you manage the small hill, you’ll be surprised by the amount and selection of preloved and new books, maps, prints, postcards, work of local artists and writers and much more.
Books for every taste – Art, Architecture, Aviation, Birds, Biography, Business, Children’s, Cookery, Counties, Cornish, Crime Fiction, Drama, Education, Espionage, Fishing, Gardening, Health, History, Historical Fiction, Humour, Local Books, Languages, Medicine, Military, Motoring, Mountenairing, Music, Mysteries, Natural History, Naval, Pets, Photography, Plays, Poetry, Politics, Psychology, Railways, Rare Editions, Religion, Romance, Royal, Science, Sci-Fi, Sport, Theatre, Topography, Travel, TV & Film, Victorian.
A world of books awaits!
When you enter the bookshop, it looks cosy and tiny, but then you discover there’s plenty of space for happy browsing on two floors.
The Bookshop was reopened in June 2019 by Neil Stone and Katrina Rotgalve, in association with the current owners Samuel and Jo Hawes (Bosco Books).
Usually open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays (12.30 to 4.30pm).
