Parking your car during your stay or visit to Looe & Polperro
LOOE
In Looe, the main ‘Millpool’ car park is owned by Cornwall Council and you can pay by phone, at the machines & using JustPark app. This is one of 11 new pay on exit car parks (so you don’t need to use a pay & display ticket) – link below for more information.
If you are staying for a week (and only intend using this car park) it is more cost effective to buy a weekly ticket for £25. It is important to note – as of June 2023, weekly tickets have to be purchased online, at least one day in advance.
There is a small £2 charge after 6pm if you are visiting Looe for the evening for any period of tie up until midnight (free thereafter until 9am). You can view the full parking charges here.
There are other options to buy a pass that allows you to park at other Cornwall Council owned car parks in the County. You just need to consider the cost effectiveness of each option for your stay in Cornwall.
The main Millpool Carpark has allocated disabled spaces in addition to two EV charging points. For information on parking for those with a disability/Blue Badge, please click here.
Cornwall Council also have car parks along Station Road (between Looe Bridge Surgery and the Railway Station). These are relatively small and are the first to fill each day.
Many local accommodation providers either have parking on their premises or cover the cost of parking within the main Millpool car park – ask when you make your reservation.
There are also three privately owned car parks (one on East Looe quay and one on West Looe quay, owned by Looe Harbour Commissioners) – these are pay & display (cash & card) or using Parkonomy app for payment (you don’t have to display a ticket if using Parkonomy to pay). Spaces are limited and during peak summer months are likely to fill very early in the day. More information & car park ID here.
The third car park is located adjacent to the Millpool Carpark (nearest to the bridge) and operated by Norman Pearn & Co – payment by cash, App & credit card. This is a pay on exit car park (the car park is CCTV monitored for security). There is an EV charging point within this car park also as well as a slipway if you are towing & launching a boat.
It is important to note that there is NO public parking at the seafront in East Looe, near to the main beach. The nearest parking is on East Looe quay or the main Millpool car park.
If you are visiting the local businesses or the beach at Hannafore (cafes, tennis clubs, bowling club & putting green), there is limited parking along Marine Drive… however, please do respect both residents & local businesses and do not use this road as a general parking area.
There is a new Land Train (passenger service) operating as a hop-on-hop-off service, with an audio tour, between the Millpool-Seafront-West Looe-Hannafore; There is also a luggage (only) transfer service which will meet you from the train or at the car parks and drop your luggage to your accommodation by quad bike, please call 07810 644449 Looe Luggage Transfer
POLPERRO
In Polperro, the car park is privately owned and is pay & display which operates using coins only (though there is a change machine for notes). There is a minimum £6/3 hours payment (year-round) and up to £40 for a weekly ticket.
Many local accommodation providers either have allocated parking on their premises or cover the cost of parking within the main car park – ask when you make your reservation.
Important to note, the nearest ATM/Cash Point is located at the Post Office, a 10 min walk from the car park.
Unless you have accommodation with a parking space, there is no vehicular access into the village itself.
There is a luggage transfer services that will collect and drop your luggage to your accommodation by quad bike. This derive permits one passenger to ride with their luggage. Please call 07896 536317 or visit the Facebook page for Polperro Luggage Taxi.
