As we move into the summer months, we see the start of the key events organised by community groups & organisations.
Here’s a summary of what’s happening in Looe, Polperro and the communities which surround us, this June.
Summer Shanties
June 12th sees the start of the 2026 Summer Shanties – a series of six dinner-concerts that take place at the Quayside Centre in West Looe.
Enjoy dinner whilst listening to a 90 min shanty concert (choose from Fish, Chips & Fizz on a Friday, or Seafood Saturday). There’s a different shanty group performing at each of the six events.

Taking place the length of Buller Quay in East Looe, this FREE event highlights the fantastic range of local produce – as well as showcasing chefs from across Cornwall, the UK & beyond.
Food stalls, chef demos, entertainment take place in the quayside marquee and along the harbour in East Looe. Link to more information below, and for the very latest make sure you’re following their Facebook page.

Polperro Festival
One of THE best annual events in the Village takes place the 13th-21st June.
Music, dance comedy, art & food. Taking place in various venues & open spaces throughout Polperro – join in the party of all parties.

Looe Raft Race
The fun commences at 11.30am when the first race leaves the beach in East Looe in this fantastic annual event, organised by Looe Boat Owners Association and Looe RNLI. There’s still time to register your raft, or just come along along and watch the fun on the water.
This is also Father’s Day – so why not book a table for lunch in one of our local restaurants for a double celebration?
The evening prior, on June 13th, it’s the Seaton to Downderry Raft Race – you can find more information here.

It’s back for the 3rd year – On The Water, sponsored by Black Dog Marine, is a celebration & promotion of the great range of activities on, in & under the water across our communities.
