As part of the Looe ‘On The Water’ week, Looe Marine Conservation Group is holding a day long event at the Heritage Centre on West Looe Quay, on Saturday June 15th.

LMCG will be exploring what can be found In or On the Edge of the Water within our Marine Conservation Zone.

Hands-on activities will enable children and adults to explore a range of themes:

  • what can be found in the sea or river waters & why it’s important to have clean water

  • what can be seen from the water & why it’s important to watch wildlife well

  • what is found out of the water on our beaches or rocky shore exploring how we can protect what we love

Come along and get your hands sandy and wet. Or, take a look through our binoculars to view local ‘wildlife’ learning ‘how far is far enough’ away when watching wildlife.

Everyone will be able to learn how to watch wildlife well on our coast and up our rivers; whether you’re watching from the beach, a kayak/sup or from a boat.

There will be scheduled ‘story-times’ featuring real-life conservation stories in addition to displays, ‘get your hands in’ wet & sand areas and a creative space.

Event Runs From 10.30am-4pm
