Our Heritage Centre, located on West Looe Quay, breathes new life into the rich maritime history of Looe.

A visit will immerse you in stories of Looe’s Harbour, fishing, river, boats and bridges. We are located in The Old Sardine Factory on the Quay in West Looe and open from Easter to the end of September each year.

Who We Are & What We Offer

For those who love Looe – see our rolling slideshow of local archive images and digital timeline of the town’s history. Plus all the family will enjoy our specially commissioned ‘Splatt the Seagull’ film – helping children and people of all ages learn all about how the fishing boats and fish market work in Looe right here and now. Don’t forget you’ll find all about Sardines as well!

And importantly all about the very backbone of our community – fishing, boats, flood defences – also the many characters who lived and worked here, and of course those who continue to do so.
