Over 3 Decades Embracing Vulnerable Creatures

Step into the enchanting realm of Porfell Wildlife Park a non-for-profit animal sanctuary. A heartwarming family-run sanctuary nestled in the serene landscapes of South East Cornwall, just a stone’s throw from Looe. Established with love in 1989 by dedicated founders John and Joy Palmer, this haven has been offering a compassionate embrace to the world’s most vulnerable creatures for over three decades.

At Porfell, no animal is ever turned away; each neglected, injured, or abandoned soul finds a lifelong refuge within our nurturing grounds. Our mission is as clear today as it was at the beginning: to offer hope for animals in need of a loving home. Supported by the generous hearts of the public, every penny donated to Porfell is a lifeline — directly funding crucial veterinary care, the welfare of our incredible keeper team, specialist diets for our animals, and the continual enhancement of our idyllic enclosures.

As a non-for-profit animal sanctuary we are fully funding by the public admissions and donations. All the money raised during our open season goes straight back into the sanctuary
