From Ocean Crossing to Ocean Conservation
An Afternoon of Ocean Rowing, Seagrass Protection & Marine Adventure

Discover why the seagrass meadows of Looe and St Austell Bay are among the UK’s most important coastal habitats, and learn the simple steps boaters, anglers and other sea users can take to help protect these remarkable underwater ecosystems. Whether you’re a local resident, visiting sailor, fisherman, or simply someone who loves the coast, this event offers a unique opportunity to better understand the wildlife-rich waters on our doorstep.
Hear first-hand accounts from Looe’s very own ‘Oars of Thunder’ Atlantic rowers about their epic 3,000-mile ocean crossing and experience immersive underwater worlds through virtual reality headsets.
The event takes place at the RNLI Station in Looe on Saturday 28 June. Pasties will be available to enjoy while you attend.
