Welcome to this 2026 advertiser’s update…
It is hard to believe that this July, Welcome to Looe & Polperro will be 6 years old!
Having launched on July 30th 2020, the site has now welcomed over half a million visitors (averaging 50,000 each months in the last year) & our Facebook & Instagram pages have a combined 37,000 followers (growing daily) – and our Google click-throughs are now upwards of 10,000 a month, for Looe & Polperro related searches.
As an advertiser & supporter of the website, or a business/individual who’d like to come onboard, this Advertisers Update gives an overview of resources & opportunities available to you & your business.
Late Availability Page
The late availability page is a great way for you to upload offers/discounted rates for rooms/properties for arrivals within occurring within 14 days from the date of posting – it takes 1 min to complete the online form (using password ‘advert’) and once received will be loaded on the site.
There’s a direct link from the home page to the Late Availability page and the adverts appear in order of arrival date and auto-delete once the arrival date has passed.
Special Offers
You can add a ‘Special Offer’ to your advert (not only accommodation advertisers) and, as in this example, the Special Offer flag appears on the purple flash, top right, which makes it highly visible when someone is flicking through the site.
Please Note: – Special offers must be available throughout the year (for example, stay 3 nights pay for 2) or something unique to the site (for example, mention Welcome to Looe & Polperro and receive a 10% discount).
To add your special offer, just drop us an email with the details. It is completely FREE of charge.
Home Page Banners
We have launched some very limited banner advertising on the home page of the website.
The adverts, as you will see, sit beneath each of the main blocks on the home page. Some examples of the banners are below – these are clickable through to your chosen url.
Every visit or re-fresh of the home page, the banner adverts will rotate so everyone advertising has equal exposure – what’s more, there are no more than 8 banners under any one section of the website.
The banners are £75 – which includes professional artwork created uniquely to fit your own branding.

Premium Listing Upgrades
Within each section of the website, we have a Premium Listing Upgrade – this gives your advert a gold ‘Premium’ flash, as in the above example. When someone clicks on section of the site, your thumbnail advert is guaranteed to be at the top of the page – like you will see on this page.
There are a maximum of 9 Premium Listing Upgrades per sector (accommodation, shopping, eating & drinking, exploring, weddings).
This Premium Upgrade is just £10 a month. Please email if upgrading is of interest to you.
Visitor’s Map
We aim to produce 15,000 copies of the 2025 Visitor’s Map ready for the end of March. The map, now in its 3rd year, is going to be updated and re-formated so that it folds down to a postcard (A6) in size.
New for 2025, we are giving local businesses the opportunity to have the maps branded specifically for them. You will see mock up example below, for Trelay Holiday Park. When folded, the front cover A6 panel appears as an advert.
2,500 copies produced uniquely for your business cost £500 – ideal for holiday parks, hotels & camping & caravan parks.
In addition to the hard copies, visitors can also download a digital edition to their phone/tablet (this will be via a link & QR code and sit on a page of the Welcome to Looe & Polperro website).
Sara at The Guildhall Market in East Looe, and Lesa at Lesa Welch Art in Polperro have kindly agreed to be distribution points for the maps – I hope that you can pop in and collect copies for your own business.

QR Code – For Guest Directories
Do you produce a guest directory for your guests? Why not add a QR code that takes them directly to the home page of the Welcome to Looe & Polperro website as a great reference point for guests looking for information on eating out, shopping, what’s on and things to do.

Featured On Logo
We now have a range of logos you can add onto your own website to show that you are ‘Featured On’ the Welcome to Looe & Polperro website, like this example for Alexander Cottage.
Via this download ink WtLP Attrib Logos where you will find a three folders which contact a variety of sizes, styles & colour ways to choose from. You can either (a) just had the logo on your website (b) add a link from the logo to the Welcome to Looe & Polperro home page or (c) add a link directly to your own advert on the website. 2025 Events
Welcome to Looe & Polperro helped to support (in terms of time, marketing & finances) a number of the key events that take place in the area. We’d like to think we’ve brought a renewed professionalism to the branding & marketing of a number of events and played a significant part, through the website & social media, in promoting them.
Our direct support for local events & initiatives includes:
- Polperro Festival, Polperro Christmas Lights & Polperro Bonfire Night Fireworks – received £750
- Pelynt Trelawny Fair – received £250 in advertising & support
- Looe NYE Fireworks – received over 100 hours of support plus £250
- Christmas In Looe – received over 100 hours of support plus £1,000 (£500 of which was towards the fireworks for the light’s switch on)
- Looe Weekender – received over 100 hours of support plus £250
In total – £2,500 has been donated into these events plus over 300 hours of support.
In addition Welcome to Looe & Polperro facilitated a new Dine Out Looe & Polperro event which was sponsored by Trelay Holiday Park (to be staged again 7th-13th April) and the On The Water event sponsored by Black Dog Marine (to be staged again the 16th-22nd June).
Both events raised the profile of both the dining & hospitality sectors as well as the the water sports, boat & fishing trips on offer and were very well received.
